| Our Programme |
Our programme aims to provide a warm and stimulating environment wherein each child will naturally develop to his/her full potential in the cognitive, physical, social, emotional, creative and spiritual areas of development.
Each child learns to feel secure and confident in a different environment away from parents and with caring adults.
The staff are a team of trained, experienced, talented, skilful, professional, dedicated people who are devoted to planning educational programmes based on the individual needs of each child attending the centre.
The children are free to choose the areas of interest in which they will participate throughout the day, both as individuals and as part of a group. As the children choose their own play activities, staff encourage sharing and cooperation with other children. Children learn self motivation and become independent as they learn about the environment through experience with painting, collage, dough, puzzles, blocks, sand, water, climbing, balancing, construction equipment, music and stories as well as acting out roles in domestic play.
All children are encouraged to rest during the day. Sheets need to be provided (these may be purchased from kindy). Families may also wish to supply a pillow or a blanket for the cooler weather.
St Paul's Lutheran Kindergarten cannot provide care for children with a contagious illness. Doctor's certificates are necessary for readmission to the centre. Any medication must be fully labelled with child's name and instructions, and must be correctly entered onto our medication form for administration by our trained first-aid officer.
St Paul's Lutheran Kindergarten is community based. Families are a vital part of our programme. We welcome all inquiries from families about our programmes and the children's progress within the centre. We urge all families to take advantage of the full educational programme we offer the children, by reading all the information available on the notice board, and in the newsletters, attending meetings of Parent Club or staying for the morning in your child's class by arrangement with your child's teacher.
